What works for me

Like others my age, sometimes the burdens of daily life get me down. My wonderful husband, a veteran of the Vietnam War, still fights a battle, but now his enemy is the slow but inevitable progression of Parkinson's Disease. Daughters are a blessing, but standing by as they negotiate challenging issues tears at my heart.

Being grateful for myriad blessings shifts my focus and allows me to be productive as a quilter and sometimes just provides entertaining escape time courtesy of our world's amazing authors.

Today I hope to make a lot of progress on a belated wedding gift quilt for my nephew and his wife.  The kit from Connecting Threads, Move Over, is made from 2-1/2" strips.  Cutting the pieces was a snap using my Accu-Quilt -- I was able to cut the entire quilt's pieces in one evening.  After finishing at 11:40, I had a great time continuing The German Girl by Correa.  Thank goodness for Kindle, since the book is due at the library tomorrow and can't be renewed as it is a "new book."
